The results of the Craft competition were announced at the Annual Meeting in March. This year, the brief was to produce a hat in any medium, and didn't we have some superb entries. The judge commented that it was "So lovely to see such a diverse mixture of hats in different mediums"
However, there can be only one winner. In first place was Christine Underwood from Shelswell WI, who produced a lovely reversible hat. Christine was a worthy winner of the Gold Medal, it was just a shame she couldn't collect her award in person.
Second place went to Penny Hockley from Shriveham WI; Penny's creation wouldn't look out of place at a wedding! There was a tie for third place between Freda Dawes, Shrivenham WI, and Clare Dewall, Warborough & Shillingford WI, again with hats that are extremely wearable.
