Oxfordshire WI committees and other activites
Nothing would happen without our team of volunteers and we are always looking for more enthusiastic members to help on our committees. If you are interested come along to a meeting and find out more, you will be made very welcome. Meetings are usually held in the office at Tackley and some are held in the evening.

Combined Arts Committee
This committee gives members opportunities to learn new and improve on existing skills in all aspects of the arts. Visits to art galleries, museums and theatres are arranged by this group, which also organises the Christmas social evening. Auditions for speakers are also organised by this committee
Home and Garden Committee
Aims to encourage and maintain a high standard in crafts, horticulture, food production and presentation and to recommend and promote the development of home economics by organising competitions, exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops.
Mainly consists of WI Advisers and is responsible for all aspects and development of WIs. It offers help, advice and training to members and encourages the promotion of the aims of the WI.
Out and About Committee
Responsible for organising day trips. Always interested in new ideas for places to visit.
Public Affairs Committee
Aims to foster an interest in, and encorage members to participate in national and local campaigns, resolutions and public affairs and to ensure that all members have regular access to relevant information and resources.
World in Science, Heritage and History Committee
Organised a range of events highlighting science, heritage and history at home and abroad.
Providing a varied programme which includes wellbeing, giving members the opportunity to create Health and Happiness of both body and mind.

The 400+ Club (name indicating the number of members) has been running for many years. Each WI member can purchase an annual ticket valid for every draw for £10. Over 50% of the income goes into prize money, the remainder goes into funding for the Federation, which, over the years, has been able to buy items such as computers, photocopiers, laptops and a sound system. Each month, members' names are entered into a draw. There are eleven monthly prizes drawn of: £50, £40, £30 and £20 x 2. Special bumper prizes are drawn at the annual meeting: £100 x 2 and £50 x 3
