Daphne Atkinson: Life Below Stairs

Daphne will tell us all about her late mother Muriel Joan Tillett and how she spent her teenage years working as a Housemaid at the stately home Ickworth Mansion near Bury St Edmunds Suffolk, home to the Marquis & Marchioness of Bristol in the early 1930s. We will hear all about her Muriel’s life at Ickworth House but one fact that can be revealed that whatever else the day brought all the household staff were well fed!
