Happy New Year, if somewhat belated, and good wishes
for 2025. Starting a new year is a wonderful feeling with
everything to look forward to – it feels clean, bright, and shiny.
It is a “big” year for the Board of Trustees with the lections
in March. Inevitably it will probably mean change, but we are nothing if not resilient – whether that be at WI or federation level. A WI “friend” asked my opinion on a WI matter in my capacity as Chair – of course she said a nicely upholstered chair – I feel she meant well-padded! However, it is the friendship and fun that is so much part of why we are in the WI.
So, what does 2025 have in store for us? As another trustee alluded to on the Choral Evensong coach trip, back in November, when sharing words of wisdom about the day and
other important up-coming federation events – please ensure you make the OFWI Chair happy and attend the OFWI annual meeting in March. I trust you have done that and booked your place!
I also appreciate we have been asking much of you as WIs – the opportunity to comment on the revision to the Governing Documents (Constitution) as well as the NFWI Strategy and, of course, February is such an important month for WIs as it is Resolution month, your chance to learn more about this year’s resolutions and make your choice for what is important to us as an organisation. All of us on the Board appreciate you taking the time to read and respond where appropriate to these changes that will take us forward as an organisation.
Your well-padded Chair sends love and thanks for your friendship – and appreciates all the WI gives me. Well worth my subscription money!
Love and best wishes.
