About the Event

We’re in for such a treat — who can resist a lovely afternoon tea?

Before we settle down, feel free to wander around the Vale and Downland Museum — it’s so much more than a museum! From fascinating fossils to a Formula One car, there’s something to capture everyone’s curiosity. An interactive auditorium presents the history of the Vale and Downland area. Wander the street scenes, walk down memory lane…. If you haven’t been before, we suggest arriving around 1:00–1:30pm to enjoy a good look around before our speaker begins at 2:15pm.

After the museum closes for our private event, we’re delighted to welcome Shaun Todd, who’ll be sharing “The History of Afternoon Tea and Its Etiquette”. Shaun will whisk us through the evolution of afternoon tea — from its elegant beginnings to the all-important question: do you pour the milk before or after the tea? And what on earth…
