Compton Acres Garden and Poole Harbour

Compton Acres in Dorset is one of the finest privately-owned gardens in the south of England.

Having undergone extensive refurbishment in recent years, it is now highly regarded as one of the most important historic gardens in the UK. The many areas to see include a Roman garden, the Grand Italian Garden, a grotto, a wooded valley, a Japanese garden and much, much more.

There is a café, with both indoor and outdoor eating areas, offering a wide variety of snacks and drinks. Of course, there is a lovely gift shop plus a plant centre for those wanting some retail therapy.

We will leave Compton Acres after lunch and travel the short distance to Poole Harbour. There we will spend a couple of

hours, perhaps enjoying a leisurely walk, having an ice cream, or just watching the world go by.
