A Day Exploring Persia

We are going to whisk you off on our magic carpet – All things Persian -Gardens, Carpets & Cuisine.

First, ‘Persian Gardens’. For the last 23 years Souren Ala has been engaged in garden design, creation and planting and was the Editor of ‘The Hardy Plant’ magazine from 2019 to 2025. He is fascinated by the cultural diversity and function of gardens. He will be focusing on some of the best-known Persian gardens. 

Christopher and Angela Legge are a husband-and-wife specialising in antique and contemporary carpets. Christopher’s travels to Iran over the past 30 years have taken him to the major centres and the more remote areas of carpet production. We will learn all about world-renowned Persian Carpets, their patterns, how to clean and repair them plus view numerous samples.
