Sunny Days Out & Other Opportunities!

With the promise of sunny days ahead, what could be better than hopping on a coach with some friends and visiting one of the finest privately owned gardens in England, Compton Acres. On 4 July, we shall be heading there to tour the six spectacular themed Gardens, set in over ten acres. With time for lunch and a visit to the gift shop, we will then head to Poole Harbour where we can stroll along the beach, maybe enjoy an ice-cream, or just sit and watch the world roll by. For those who would prefer a less active time, on 8 July Art Historian, Lizzie Rowe, returns to tell us about the treasures in the Royal Collection, from the magnificent painted portraits by Van Dyck and Vermeer to the exquisite miniatures by Hans Holbein and sketches by Leonardo da Vinci. And in the week of The Queen's Jubilee celebrations, we will celebrate with a glass of fizz! To read more and to book tickets, click here

Have you missed going up to London over the last two years? Why not join our trip on 19 July that will not only take you on a guided walking tour by a Blue Badge Guide in the morning, taking in the sights and learning about the history of the area, but also take you to the Museum of London Docklands after you've had time to get some lunch. There you can find out about how the Docklands shaped our history, and maybe have a drink and a snack before returning back to Oxfordshire. The last event that has opened for booking is the Technique Taster Time on 15 November. This may seem a long way away, but it is always extremely popular, so you need to book early to secure your place. With the choice of trying four crafts out of the six available, there's lots to do and new skills to learn. You can read about what crafts are on offer and book tickets by clicking here
