Which side of the fence are you on? Lover or Hater? I’m talking, of course, about Marmite!
We’re running a quiz on 31 October for all Members, and you may well ask, what is the correlation between the two facts?
Well, to my surprise, not all of you like quizzes; however, if 50% of you fall into the “love” category, then those 1700 Members,
please read on. The plan is to run two venues simultaneously; Exeter Hall, Kidlington and the Civic Hall, Didcot. Teams of four, no fantastic prizes (maybe something chocolatey) but, oh, the glory of being in the top intelligentsia. As for the rest
of us, what fun. It will be gentle rivalry, meeting your mates again, a night out. Well does that remind you of how it used to be pre-Covid? There will be more details in the next issue of our magazine, just save the date and start listening to the news more closely. No prizes for guessing which category I fall into … Must go and spread more of the heavenly substance
on my toast!
A goodly bunch of you attended the John Lewis event and I think the staff of JL were pretty gobsmacked at the actuality of, shall we say, 155 ladies milling around and being gently funnelled into four groups to hear and see all the presentations. Thanks to the Combined Arts Committee for getting it all together under the leadership of Mary B. As it was a new venture, I know she was anxious, but happily has not taken to the bottle and was only spotted nursing one glass of Prosecco!
We’ve got mini breaks scheduled in, coach trips, training for all our Members who have taken on new responsibilities, plus all our talks and presentations that have already happened and were arranged for your edification. I really feel a buzz of excitement … onwards and upwards! It was lovely to see so many of you out and about recently. Keep up the good work, we need you and always aim to please.
