About the Event
Bread making was so fashionable during lockdown – but we knew all along it was a skill that had to be mastered! Oh
and what a delicious result!
Matthews Cotswold Flour is one of the oldest remaining family-owned specialist flour mills in the UK. The company’s
history dates back to the 1860s when Marmaduke Matthews started a small business selling seeds from his barn in Fifield, near Burford. We are delighted that the 8th generation of Matthews will be with us to tell us all about the history of milling flour and all about the milling process.
Mark Woodgate is a professional baker who owns Mark’s Cotswold Bakery in Chipping Norton. Mark won a prestigious award at the 2018 World Bread Awards. His bakery was also a finalist in the nationwide 2019 Baking Industry Awards. Mark will be demonstrating his techniques as well as giving hints and tips to successful home bread making.
A delicious homemade Ploughman’s lunch will be included in the ticket price of this half-day event.
Tea and coffee will be available during the afternoon. Please, bring your own mugs,
Please note: tickets are non-refundable.
